John Charles Polanyi Prize
I was recently awarded a John Charles Polanyi Prize for my postdoctoral research work. As an award recipient, I am also entitled to visit Massey College when I want--a privilege that I look forward to enjoying!
Conceptual Foundations and Foils for Quantum Information Processing
Announcing the conference on Conceptual Foundations and Foils for Quantum Information Processing to be held at the Perimeter Institute (Waterloo, Ontario), May 9-13, 2011.
Feeling FOCSy
Universal Blind Quantum Computation by Anne Broadbent, Joseph Fitzsimons and Elham Kashefi was accepted for presentation at FOCS 2009.
Prizes
Prizes I recently received for my doctoral studies:
- NSERC Doctoral Prize Doctoral Prizes are awarded annually to up to four students who are completing their doctoral degrees at Canadian universities. Two awards are available in each of the two categories: natural sciences, and engineering and computer sciences.
- Governor General's Academic Gold Medal.
I was also awarded a 5$ prize (it's not the size that counts!) for recent research:
- Joe Fitzsimons, Elham Kashefi and I share a 15$ prize awarded for partial results towards the Aaronson $25.00 Challenge .
Have you registered for TQC?
As an organizer of the upcoming TQC workshop, I encourage you to attend!
Dear Colleagues,
Online registration is now open for the 4th Workshop on Theory of Quantum
Computation, Communication and Cryptography (Waterloo, May 11-13, 2009) at
the following website:
http://www.iqc.ca/tqc2009
The deadline for early registration with a reduced registration fee is
March 29, 2009, which coincides with the deadline for booking
accommodation with guaranteed rate. Online registration will be closed
after May 3, 2009.
Paper accepted in TCS!
Parallelizing Quantum Circuits by Anne Broadbent and Elham Kashefi was accepted for publication in Theoretical Computer Science.
This is definitely my personal record for a long review process: over 14 months!
New Job, new website
This summer, I finished my thesis at Université de Montréal and took up a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Institute for Quantum Computing, University of Waterloo. So far, it is very fun and challenging.
Welcome to my new website! I hope that you like it. Please let me know if you have any comments.
